Chip's Final Resting Place(s)
by Link Mueller
Chip and I spent several days of our honeymoon here at Brooks Lake,  WY in July 1958.  Brooks Lake is just
East of Jackson Hole, WY between Jackson Hole and Dubois, WY.

We lived in a tiny pup tent on the left side of this creek and Chip learned all about outdoor  living.  This was
always a special spot for us and we visited it  several times over the years and took our children and
grandchildren there to enjoy it also.  I thought it would be an ideal spot to scatter some of her ashes there
after her death.  On May 28, 2005, I went back there with my son Link Jr, his wife Nancy and my
granddaughter Cassie plus my sister Vicky and her husband Ron.  We spent the day there, remembering
Chip.  At their suggestion I divided up her ashes (half of them since the other half are in the Columbarium at
our church in Virginia Beach) and we all went to a separate place and returned her dust back to the nature
that we loved so much.  I brought along a small Colorado Blue Spruce tree and attached a small heart
shaped brass heart to it with the inscription "In loving memory of Chip Mueller."

The tree is planted just on the other side of the bridge leading to the Forest Service camp ground which is
adjacent to the creek.  I plan to return there.  For any of her friends that might like to visit there, there is a
beautiful lodge on the other side of the lake named The Brooks Lake Lodge.

Peace and Love,
