WHEREAS, Sara “Chip” Mueller passed into the Lord’s nearer presence on Thanksgiving Day 2004; and,
WHEREAS, she was a Christian Educator of the highest standards, wisdom, and devotion; and,
WHEREAS, she served as Interim Director of Religious Education on the Staff of the Diocese of Southern
Virginia; and,
WHEREAS, over her long and distinguished career, she also served as an Education For Ministry (EFM)
Mentor and Trainer, as a Disciples of Christ in Community (DOCC) Coordinator and Trainer, as a member of
the Servant Leader Community, as a Coordinator for the annual Shrine Mont Conference, as a Search
Consultant for Trinity, South Boston, as a Deputy to General Convention, and as Director of Adult Ministries at
Emmanuel, Virginia Beach; and,
WHEREAS, by word and example, with a joyful heart and the gift of humor, she touched lives deeply
throughout the Diocese of Southern Virginia;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that this 113th Annual Council of the Diocese of Southern Virginia
give thanks to God for Chip’s many contributions to the life of her Parish, Diocese, and the larger Episcopal
Church; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this council extend its heartfelt sympathy to her husband Link Mueller and
to their extended family; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this resolution be spread across the minutes and books of
Council, and that a copy be sent to her family.
